In the workshop organized on Tribal Pride Day, Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized on the heritage, self-reliance and development plans of the tribal society. Schemes like PM Janman and Tribal Museum are gaining momentum in Chhattisgarh.
Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the Tribal Pride Day workshop organized at the Convention Hall located in Civil Lines of the capital Raipur. He said that this day is a symbol of honoring the glorious history and legacy of tribal heroes.
Tribal Pride Day- Symbol of tradition, culture and inspiration
The Chief Minister reminded that last year also the Tribal Pride Day workshop was successfully organized in the same auditorium. During that time, tribal society across the state had participated enthusiastically. He informed that Union Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya had also participated in the 10 kilometer long padyatra organized in Jashpur. In this padyatra, traditional costumes, cuisine, jewelery and culture of the tribal society were displayed brilliantly. Praising this initiative, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had said that such events should be organized every year across the country.
Tribute paid to Lord Birsa Munda and Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has immortalized the bravery of tribal heroes by deciding to celebrate Tribal Pride Day on the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Recalling the contribution of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said that under his leadership, the Ministry of Tribal Welfare was formed for the first time, which took a historic step towards the respect and development of the tribal society.
New pace of tribal development in Chhattisgarh – PM Janman and Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh schemes
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, many schemes for the tribal society in Chhattisgarh are being implemented rapidly. Under PM Janman Yojana, construction of 2,500 kilometers of roads and 32,000 Prime Minister houses have been sanctioned in the state. At the same time, through the Pradhan Mantri Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojana, basic facilities are being rapidly expanded in the tribal areas.
Tribal Museum in Nava Raipur – A heritage of history and pride
The Chief Minister said that a Tribal Museum based on the 14 tribal rebellions of Chhattisgarh and the life of immortal martyr Veer Narayan Singh has been constructed in Nava Raipur. This museum is an important initiative of the state government towards preserving the memories of tribal history, traditions and pride.
He requested the educationists and intellectuals to include tribal pride and history in the academic curriculum, so that the new generation can take inspiration from the struggle and rich heritage of their ancestors.
Linkage to education, health and employment – main objective of the workshop
Higher Education Minister Shri Tankram Verma said that this workshop is an opportunity to brainstorm on the rich traditions, history and future challenges of the tribal society. He said that the main objective of the workshop is to prepare a concrete strategy for the all-round development of the tribal society by connecting it with education, health, livelihood and employment.
State government determined for the development of tribal society
Tribal Development and Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam said that the outline of this workshop will be prepared by all the enlightened people and the state government will take concrete steps in the same direction. He said that last year Tribal Pride Day was successfully organized in almost all the districts and this year efforts will be made to celebrate it in a more grand and effective manner.
Participation of more than 70 thousand people – an example of tribal pride
Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that more than 70,000 people had participated in the Tribal Pride Day program organized last year. He said that this event sent a message to the entire country that Chhattisgarh has done the work of taking the upliftment of the tribal society to every person. It is the responsibility of all of us to carry forward the rich tradition that our great tribal heroes have given us.
Call to restore tribal self-reliance
General Secretary of All India Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Shri Yogesh Bapat said that the tribal society is a self-reliant society and it is the responsibility of all of us to restore its glory. He said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai himself is dedicated to the upliftment of the tribal society. He urged that such concrete plans should be prepared from this workshop, which will help in raising the tribal pride and self-respect further.
A large number of academicians and officials present in the program
On this occasion, Secretary of Higher Education Department, Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Commissioner Tribal Development Department Dr. Saransh Mitter, Director of Employment and Training Shri Vijay Dayaram, Vice Chancellors of various universities, Principals of leading colleges and representatives of various institutions were present.
