Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present the country’s budget tomorrow. Just before that, the government has got a big gift of GST collection. The country’s GST collection has increased by 10.4 percent in January 2024. The Finance Ministry has released GST collection figures on Wednesday.
The country’s GST collection in January 2024 has been Rs 1.72 lakh crore. This is the second time after the implementation of GST in the country that the monthly collection of GST has been the highest. This is the third month in the current financial year 2023-24 when GST collection has been above Rs 1.70 lakh crore.
