Employees of the Municipality Department, who had gone to take action against the illegal construction of a mosque in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, had to face opposition. A large number of people from one community gathered to protest against the action. Senior police officers also reached the spot. Meanwhile, the police also had to try to use mild force. Seeing the situation getting out of control, the authorities have stopped the action for some time.

Women and men of a community reached the Maha Municipality office to protest against the action on the mosque. He sat on strike in front of the municipality gate. People of the society were saying that the matter should be in the court. He says that when the matter is in the court then why is action being taken. A month ago the court had stayed the action.

Hearing in court on 2 February

It is being told that this order was canceled 2 days ago, after which the Muslim community has again filed an application. The hearing of this case in the court is on 2 February. Actually, some Hindu organizations are demanding illegal construction on a mosque located in Lakshteerth Colony of Kolhapur. Following the complaint, the Urban Planning Department of the Maha Municipality reached the mosque site on Wednesday morning to demolish the construction. A large number of police forces were also present.

Officials put a stop, demolition stopped

Seeing the team, people of a community gathered in large numbers at the mosque. He started opposing the action. The protesting people say that when the matter is in the court then why is action being taken. Municipal officials started explaining to the protesting people. Due to the protest, the police tried to use force. Seeing the situation getting out of control, senior police officers have stopped the action for some time. At present the demolition has been stopped.
