In the Gyanvapi case, the District Court of Varanasi has given a big verdict and has ordered the Hindu side to perform puja in Vyas basement. For this, the district administration has also been ordered to make arrangements for worship in Vyas basement within 7 days. The Hindu side had been fighting for 30 years for worship in Vyas ji’s basement. This basement was closed for 30 years and a legal battle was going on for it.
On September 25 last year, a suit was filed in the court on behalf of Shailendra Kumar Pathak and it was told that the basement of Vyas ji is right in front of Nandi Lord in the Gyanvapi complex. According to Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain, puja was held here till 1993, but in November 1993, puja was banned here illegally by the Mulayam government. Earlier, barricading was done here by using bamboo poles but later it was completely banned.]The basement present in the building located on the south side of Gyanvapi is the main seat of the Vyas family, the chief priest of the ancient temple.
