What Happened To Twisha Sharma?

Twisha Sharma was a model and actress who was discovered dead at her matrimonial house in Bhopal on May 12, 2026, five months after her marriage to Samarth Singh. Her husband is a lawyer and mother-in-law; Giribala Singh is a retired district judge. They are facing the prosecution in the case.

A FIR was filed against them under Sections 80(2) (dowry death), 85 (cruelty by husband or his relatives) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita  . Moreover, Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act were also added.

In the chargesheet filed by CBI, the team has dropped the dowry-death charge against Giribala and invoked Section 108 of the BNS, which deals with abetment of suicide. Samarth Singh sought bail, arguing that the investigation was incomplete and the chargesheet had been filed on the 87th day. A Bhopal court eventually rejected his plea on October 6.

On the other hand, Giribal had earlier been granted anticipatory bail by the Bhopal trial court on May 15, which was quashed later after Twisha’s parents challenged it. Stay tuned for more updates!
