On the basis of initial investigation, the police said that the youth’s brother-in-law came to the spot with his associates and shot the brother-in-law in the head from very close range. The deceased had a love marriage with the sister of the accused only four months ago. Rampur Maniharan police station in-charge Umed Kumar told the media that Shivkumar, a resident of Babri area of ​​Shamli district police station, had come to Gochar Mahavidyalaya to take his wife Akanksha for the police recruitment examination.

He told that Akanksha went inside the college to take the exam, while Shivkumar was sitting outside in the car waiting for her to return. Kumar told that during this time, Akanksha’s brother Manjeet reached there with his associates and shot Shivkumar near his head with a pistol. He said that Shivakumar was immediately taken to the primary health center, where doctors declared him dead. Akanksha told the police that she had a love marriage with Shivkumar four months ago.

Since the marriage, her family members, especially brother Manjeet, were opposing this relationship and were continuously threatening both of them. Akanksha alleges that for this reason Manjeet has murdered Shivkumar. Police have sent the body for post-mortem. He told that on the basis of Akanksha’s statement, an FIR has been registered against Manjeet and efforts are being made to arrest him.
