Chile Employee Salary News: Have you ever wondered what you would do if you get many times more money than your salary in your account? Something similar happened with a person in Chile’s capital Santiago. The company transferred 330 times more than his salary to this person’s account. The man was first stunned to see such a huge amount in his account, but later he resigned and switched off his mobile.
What is the whole matter?
This incident happened with a man working as an office assistant at Dan Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos de Chile, a food company in Santiago. The salary of this employee was £386 per month (Rs 46000 per month). However, in May 2022, the company mistakenly transferred an amount of 127,000 pounds i.e. more than Rs 15 crore to his account.

As soon as the money was received, I resigned and switched off my phone.
According to the company, initially he had agreed to return the money, but after three days the employee resigned and also switched off his phone. After this the company complained against the employee in the court. The surprising thing is that after a long legal battle that lasted for about three years, the court has given a verdict in favor of the employee and acquitted him in this case. That means now all the money is his.
What did the court say in its decision?
According to reports, the company had filed a case of theft against the employee, but instead of considering it as a case of theft, the court considered it as ‘unauthorized collection’ and acquitted him. At the same time, in this whole matter, the company says that it will now go to the higher court to get its money and whatever legal steps are required for this will be adopted.
