What is Kukur Tihar?
In Nepal, dogs are worshiped on the second day of Diwali festival i.e. on Narak Chaturdashi. In this puja, first of all the dogs are vaccinated with kumkum and garlanded with flowers. Blessings are taken by adding rice. Dogs are given food of their choice. This tradition is known as Kukur Tihar. This festival is celebrated in a way to remember the loyalty of dogs.
