Georgia: Malayalam youth Dave Fiji, who lost his life in a helicopter crash just hours after his marriage in Georgia, America, was given a tearful farewell. His funeral was held at Praise Community Church on Friday, after which the body was buried at Gwinnett Memorial Park.
The incident occurred last Friday night in a wooded area near Dawson County. Officials said that at that time the helicopter was being flown by pilot Nikhil Nargundkar. Both Dave Fiji and pilot Nikhil were killed in this accident, while Dave’s wife Jessie was injured but survived. During the funeral, Jessie shared heart-touching memories of her husband, hearing which many people present there could not stop their tears.
After the marriage, a ride in Robinson R66 helicopter was kept as a special surprise for the new couple. Their plan was to go to DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. But shortly after takeoff, the helicopter crashed in the forest.
Dave himself was a pilot and wanted to become a pilot since childhood. He had a good idea of the bad weather. Just before the helicopter took off, Dave expressed his concern to the pilot about the bad weather and low visibility. But the pilot did not take his words seriously. After the accident, Jessie remained trapped in the debris of the helicopter for about six hours.
