Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has been under medical care at Apollo Hospital, Chennai, since July 21 after experiencing mild dizziness during his morning walk. Initial medical examinations indicated that the dizziness was caused by an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). Following further evaluation, doctors conducted an angiogram on July 24, which confirmed no major blockages or complications in his heart. A team of specialists, led by senior cardiologist Dr. G. Sengottuvelu, administered treatment to stabilize his heart rate. Hospital authorities have stated that Stalin is recovering well and is expected to resume his official duties within the next two days.
Despite being advised three days of rest, the Chief Minister continued to oversee government operations from the hospital. On July 23, he held a video conference with district collectors from Kanyakumari, Kanchipuram, and Coimbatore to review the progress of the “Ungalil Stalin” (Stalin with You) public grievance redressal program. During the meeting, he instructed officials to expedite resolutions for petitions received at the camps and ensure proper facilities for visitors. He also directly interacted with beneficiaries, taking note of their concerns and directing prompt action.
