Orange Cap and Purple Cap Holder List in IPL 2026: The race for the Orange and Purple Cap of IPL 2026 has also reached the playoffs. The race for Orange and Purple Cap is also going on among the players of the four teams – RCB, GT, SRH and RR – who have entered the playoffs. In the race for the Orange Cap, there are 7 batsmen belonging to the 4 teams who have made it to the playoffs, while the contenders for the Purple Cap are 3 players belonging to those teams. Orange cap is given to the player who scores the most runs in IPL. Whereas, the Purple Cap is held by the bowler who takes the most wickets.
Sai Sudarshan leads in the race for Orange Cap
Currently in IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans’ Sai Sudarshan is wearing an orange cap. He has scored 638 runs in 14 matches played in the group stage. Sudarshan is definitely ahead in the race for the Orange Cap, but he seems to be facing tough competition from 6 batsmen, one of whom is his teammate and opening partner Shubman Gill.

After Sai Sudarshan, Shubman Gill of Gujarat Titans is in second place in the race for Orange Cap. He has scored 616 runs in 13 matches played in the group stage. Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad has 606 runs in 14 matches and is at third place in the race for Orange Cap. Klaasen is the only batsman included in this race. Which is not an opener.
Due to Delhi Capitals not reaching the playoffs, KL Rahul (593 runs) is out of the race for Orange Cap. In such a situation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals, who scored 583 runs in 14 matches in the group stage, is the fourth player to remain in the Orange Cap race. Ishan Kishan (569 runs), Abhishek Sharma (563 runs) and Virat Kohli (557 runs) are the remaining three batsmen who are in the race for the Orange Cap. If their teams reach the final of IPL 2026, there may be a possibility of them winning the Orange Cap.
These 3 players are contenders for Purple Cap
There are 3 players contending for the Purple Cap, which include RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Gujarat Titans’ Kagiso Rabada and Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer. Among these, Bhuvi and Rabada have 24-24 wickets in 14-14 matches. Whereas Joffra Archer has 21 wickets in 14 matches.
