New Delhi: Heavy rains several parts of the national capital region (NCR) on Tuesday evening. Most parts of Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad witnessed heavy rainfall after 4 pm. Some parts of the NCR also witnessed hailstorms. The downpour led to waterlogging and traffic jams in several parts of the region. Traffic came to a standstill in parts of Gurugram.
Dark clouds engulfed the skies of Delhi, Noida and other NCR cities on Tuesday afternoon after which heavy rains lashed the city. Commuters were stuck in jams for long as the rain continued for more than two hours.
Delhi NCR rainfall: IMD issues yellow alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘yellow’ and an ‘orange’ alert for the national capital for Tuesday evening. It said that moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorms and lightning is likely in parts if the city. The weather agency added that ‘moderate thunderstorms with lightning, hail, and wind’ are very likely in parts of central, west, southwest, north and northwest Delhi.
Delhi residents woke up to light rainfall on Tuesday morning. The minimum temperature was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 35 degrees Celsius, the IMD said.

Delhi NCR weather forecast for tomorrow
As per the IMD, the national capital region is likely to witness partly cloudy skies and light rainfall on Wednesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 30 and 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality index was recorded at 68 in the ‘satisfactory category’ at 9 am on Tuesday, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). As per the pollution control board, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered “good”, 51 to 100 “satisfactory”, 101 to 200 “moderate”, 201 to 300 “poor”, 301 to 400 “very poor” and 401 to 500 “severe”.
