During the conversation, Narendra Modi congratulated Putin on his 73rd birthday. Along with this, he wished for his good health and success in all efforts. The two leaders reviewed the progress on the bilateral agenda. Along with this, it reiterated its commitment to deepen the special strategic partnership between India and Russia. The Prime Minister said that he is eager to welcome President Putin to India for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.
Vladimir Putin is going to come to India in December
According to media reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to visit India in December. His visit may be on 4-6 December. Putin last came to India in 2021. He is going to come to India for the first time after the fight started in Ukraine in February 2022.
Why is Vladimir Putin’s visit to India important?
Vladimir Putin is coming to India at a time when the US has put heavy pressure on India to stop oil imports from Russia. US President Donald Trump has imposed a 50 % tariff on goods imported from India. It has 25 percent reciperoot tariff. 25 percent of tariffs have been imposed as fine for importing crude oil from Russia. India has clearly stated that crude oil imports from Russia will not stop. We are not going to come under any pressure.

Large deals can be held during Putin’s visit to India
There may be large defense deals between Russia and India during Putin’s visit to India. India wants to buy an additional S-400 unit from Russia. Negotiations are going on for this. The air defense system proved its capacity at Operation Sindoor, which lasted from 7-10 May. India needs the fifth generation stealth fighter jet. For this, Russia’s SU-57 is monitored. Deal is also expected to be done about this.
