Sunetra Pawar had given offer to Navneet Rana
Rana told that Sunetra Pawar and Parth Pawar had expressed their desire to send him to Rajya Sabha. He had considered Rana’s candidature considering his work and capabilities. Rana thanked him for this trust. Rana told that she recently met Sunetra Pawar at the house of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in Mumbai. According to her, she was told that for Rajya Sabha nomination she would have to join the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which was a condition which she was not ready to accept.
Navneeta Rana did this on the request of CM Fadnavis
Navneet Rana said, “On the instructions of Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis Sahab, I personally met Sunetravahini Ajitdada Pawar and requested that NCP’s Rajya Sabha seat be vacated for the Bharatiya Janata Party. But due to some reason it was not possible. Nevertheless, I am grateful to Sunetravahini Ajitdada Pawar and Parthdada Pawar for trusting me and considering me to give me a chance for Rajya Sabha.”
Elections on 24 Rajya Sabha seats of 10 states on May 22
This statement of Navneet Rana has come at a time when speculations are intense regarding Rajya Sabha seats and alliance politics in Maharashtra. On May 22, the Election Commission (EC) had announced to hold elections for 24 Rajya Sabha seats in 10 states on June 18. Apart from this, by-elections are also to be held on one seat each in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
