Nothing Phone (3) and Headphone (1) set to break cover on July 1: here’s what to expect

New Delhi: It’s a busy week ahead for Nothing fans. The Carl Pei-led tech startup is hosting a launch event in London tomorrow, July 1, where it will officially unveil its most hyped products yet — the Nothing Phone (3) and Nothing’s first-ever over-ear Headphone (1).

Leaks have been surfacing for weeks now, and now we’re just a day away from seeing what’s real and what’s not. While the company has kept some details under wraps, a fair bit has already slipped out.

Nothing Phone (3): A flagship with a premium price tag

The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be the company’s costliest phone till date, with Carl Pei confirming in a YouTube interview that the price will be around £800. That’s roughly ₹90,500 at today’s exchange rate. This makes it nearly twice as expensive as the Nothing Phone (2), which launched at ₹44,999 in India.

But Nothing is promising a proper flagship experience this time, powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip. There’s also a focus on creators, with a 50MP main camera, new performance features, and what appears to be better zoom and photo quality based on sample images shared by the company.

Pei has said the Phone (3) will be made with “premium materials” and offer software support for at least seven years, five for Android updates, two for security patches.

Glyph redesign and camera confusion

Design-wise, there’s been some back and forth. One set of leaked renders showed a transparent back with a neat three-camera alignment. But a newer set of images from Android Headlines suggest a very different layout — two cameras side-by-side and another one tucked away in the corner. The final design is anyone’s guess until the launch.

The Glyph interface is also changing, with a new matrix-style LED layout appearing on the top-right corner of the phone.

There’s buzz about a dedicated button for AI features, much like the Nothing Phone (3a) series, but we’ll know for sure only tomorrow.

Nothing’s first over-ear headphones

The Headphone (1) is the other big reveal. It’s the brand’s first full-size headphone, and like other Nothing products, it’s expected to go heavy on unique design.

Designer Tom Ridley said they wanted to create “a more interesting looking pair of headphones that say something about you.” Global design lead Adam Bates hinted at controls that look and feel different depending on what they do.

Leaks show off a squircle-shaped design, transparent bits, and some versions that look like cassette tapes. There’s also branding that says “Sound by KEF,” which suggests Nothing may be working with the British high-end audio brand.

The headphones are expected to support 3.5mm cables, which is a bit of a throwback but also a welcome addition for audio purists.

India launch likely soon after

While the July 1 event is in London, the India launch usually follows shortly after. Given Nothing’s strong presence in India, both the Phone (3) and Headphone (1) should hit the shelves here soon, with the phone likely priced around ₹50,000 to ₹60,000.

The official specs, prices, and exact designs should all be confirmed at the launch event tomorrow. Until then, it’s mostly educated guesses and some last-minute leaks.
