I have suffered a lot. Kakoli Ghosh clarified that his decision was not due to personal resentment against Mamata Banerjee. He said that he has been associated with Mamata Banerjee for almost 40 years. He said that Mamata Banerjee has been the guide and leader of his political life. He also said that even when Mamata Banerjee was not in power, she stood by her and fought in many elections. Ghosh said that it would be wrong to say that he has left the party because of the loss of power. According to him, his concerns regarding the functioning of the party and the government have increased in the last few years.
Kalyan Banerjee’s sharp attack on the rebel group
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the rebel group led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. He described the rebel leaders as “desperate” and alleged that they were betraying party chief Mamata Banerjee. Kalyan Banerjee said that some leaders are trying to harm the party because of personal political ambitions. He claimed that the trust of the party leadership and workers still remains strong with Mamata Banerjee.
BJP also targeted, accused of weakening TMC
During the press conference, Kalyan Banerjee also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He alleged that BJP is continuously trying to weaken Trinamool Congress and is trying to promote discontent within the party. He said that opposition parties are working on various strategies to reduce the political strength of TMC, but the party is capable of facing these challenges.
