While the movie is set to hit the big screen this coming Friday, a special screening was organised by the makers for industry friends and family. Among the notable attendees was filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, content creator Aaliyah Kashyap, who was highly impressed by the film. She revealed that she has already watched the story twice and was moved even more during her second viewing.
Taking to her Instagram stories to share an enthusiastic review, Aaliyah Kashyap posted a photo of the film’s poster and shared her thoughts with her followers. She wrote, “Main Vaapas Aaunga in theatres this Friday! A beautiful and hard hitting story with powerful performances and amazing music. A story very important and relevant today. This was my second watch and I loved it even more this time!! 10/10.”

Renowned television and film producer Ektaa Kapoor also took to social media to share her thoughts on Imtiaz Ali’s latest project. Main Vaapas Aaunga is a poignant tale of love, separation, and longing set during the Partition of India in 1947. The film marks the second collaboration between director Imtiaz Ali and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, following their previous success with Amar Singh Chamkila. The film features a stellar ensemble cast, including veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah alongside rising stars Vedang Raina and Sharvari in central roles.
The musical score for the film has been composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, with heartfelt lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The project is produced by Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment, and Mohit Choudhary and Shibasish Sarkar under the banner of Window Seat Films. Main Vaapas Aaunga is officially scheduled to release in cinemas across the country on June 12, 2026.
