Bangkok: Tensions flared along the Thailand-Cambodia border on Thursday as Thai F-16 fighter jets launched air strikes on two Cambodian military positions, the Thai army confirmed.
According to Thai army deputy spokesperson Ritcha Suksuwanon, six jets were deployed from Ubon Ratchathani province and successfully struck their designated ground targets across the border in Cambodia.
The air strikes come amid an escalating dispute between the two nations over a border area. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the renewed clashes have already resulted in the death of at least one civilian, though details of further casualties or damage remain unclear.
