The ODI World Cup 2027 is set to be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The mega tournament is set to begin from October 2 next year.
Former Team India’s pacer Rishi Dhawan feels that Shubman Gill has been leading the side very well. He also stated that the 27-year-old cricketer has been handling batting well along with captaincy.
“Yes, definitely. As you can see, in whichever series he has captained, he has led very well. Often when players take on captaincy, it impacts their batting, but he is handling it smoothly and delivering extraordinary batting performances continuously,” he said.
The former cricketer also feels that Gill will improve his captaincy skills till the time of the .
“I believe he has emerged very well as a captain. By 2027, he will certainly captain very well in the World Cup. Moreover, to support and guide him, Rohit bhai and Virat bhai are there, so I don’t think there will be any problems at all,” said Rishi.
Earlier, a grand ceremony in Johannesburg unveiled the 12 venues that will host next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, with eight venues in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia’s capital Windhoek selected as tournament locations.
The “Men in Blue” will kick off their global tournament’s campaign with a clash against on October 7 in Cape Town. The highly anticipated match of the tournament, which will be played between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan, is scheduled for October 10 in Johannesburg.

will host games at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, SuperSport Park in Centurion, Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban, St George’s Park in Gqeberha, Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, Boland Park in Paarl and Buffalo Park in KuGompo City (formerly East London), according to the ICC website.
Zimbabwe will stage matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare, Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo and Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls, while Namibia’s capital Windhoek will host games at the Namibia Cricket Ground.
