Badrinath: South Indian film superstar Rajinikanth reached Badrinath Dham on the morning of Sharad Purnima and had darshan of Lord Badrivishal.
On his arrival, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee President Hemant Dwivedi welcomed him and offered the Prasad of Badrivishal. Rajinikanth is known for visiting Uttarakhand’s holy shrines every year as part of his spiritual journey.

RSS organized a grand procession to celebrate the centenary year of the organization
On the same day, a special celebration took place at the temple town. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organized a grand procession to celebrate the centenary year of the organization on the auspicious day of Vijay Dashami and Sharad Purnima.
The event began at the Swaminarayan Temple, where the flag was hoisted and a lamp was lit by the chief guest. A prayer, “Namaste Sada Vatsale Matri Bhoome,” was also recited. The march then began, with more than 300 RSS volunteers in full uniform. They marched in disciplined lines with a band playing patriotic tunes.
The procession passed through various roads of Badrinath including Mana Road, Bus Terminal Road, and Temple Road, ending at Singh Dwar of Shri Badrinath Temple. Throughout the route, locals and devotees welcomed the volunteers by showering flowers. Loud chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai” filled the air.

Uttarakhand State Pracharak Dr. Shailendra addressed the gathering and said that in today’s time, unity and cultural values are most important. He stressed that both scriptures and strength are needed for protecting the nation. He also reminded everyone of the Sangh’s past leaders like Dr. Hedgewar and Rajju Bhaiya and said the RSS works not for individuals but for the nation and society.
He added that the values of Sanatan Dharma and the idea of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family) are central to Indian culture. He called on the people to stay united and remove social evils like untouchability for a stronger Hindu society.
