New Delhi: Pakistan fielders were involved in a hilarious mix-up which led to a catch drop during their clash against India in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on Sunday. Pakistan wicket-keeper Sidra Nawaz collided with her teammate Natalia Pervaiz to drop a sitter during India’s innings in the match, handing a reprieve to the Indian wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh.
The mix-up took place on the third delivery of the final over of India’s innings when Richa was facing Pakistan pacer Diana Baig. Baig bowled a short ball, which Richa failed to middle and ended up getting a thick edge as the ball flew in the air. The ball landed right in the middle as the Pakistan keeper Nawaz collided with Pervaiz, who was fielding at backward point.
Nawaz was the one going for the catch, but she failed to call it and ended up spilling it in the end. Richa eventually managed a single off the delivery after the hilarious mix-up. The drop catch reminded fans of the Pakistan men’s team’s hilarious catch drops from the past. Pakistan’s men’s team has often made headlines with their mix-ups on the field.

The dropped catch, however, didn’t cost Pakistan much as Richa failed to get the strike back after her single. Krati Gaud hit the next delivery for a boundary before getting caught on the subsequent ball. Indian pacer Renuka Singh got out on a duck on the final ball of the team’s innings as the Women in Blue were bundled out for 247 runs in 50 overs.
