Coldrif Syrup: Doctor arrested after death of 16 children from poisonous phlegm syrup. Madhya Pradesh Toxic Cough Syrup Case Police Arrested Dr Praveen Soni

After the death of 16 children in Madhya Pradesh, the police arrested the accused Dr. Praveen Soni. They have been accused of giving poisonous phlegm syrup to children. The affected children were fed a cold syrup at the behest of the doctor.

Toxic cough syrup: After the death of 16 children in Madhya Pradesh, the police arrested Dr. Praveen Soni in the poisonous cuff syrup case. Praveen Soni wrote contaminated phlegm syrup associated with these deaths. Out of 16 children who died, 14 were Chhindwara and 2 of Betul.

The police on Saturday registered an FIR against the operators of Dr. Soni and Coldrif Syrup -making company Srison Pharmaceuticals. A case has been registered under several sections of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the Code of Justice of India (BNS) on the complaint of Ankit Sahalam, Block Medical Officer of Parasia Community Health Center.

CM Mohan Yadav suspended Dr. Praveen Soni

On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Dr. Praveen Soni, a pediatrician posted in Parasia in Chhindwara district, has been suspended with immediate effect. He has been accused of negligence in the treatment of children.

48.6% Diathylene Glycol found in Coldrif Cuff Syrup

Investigation revealed that Dr. Soni had given cold cuff syrup to mostly affected children. A lab report released on Friday found that the syrup had 48.6 percent of the Diathylene Glycol (DEG). It is a poisonous chemical. It can cause kidney failure and death when swallowing it.

According to sources, the Union Health Secretary will conduct a video conference with all states and union territories with Principal Secretaries (Health), Health Secretaries and Drug Controllers. It will discuss the rational use of cuff syrup and the quality and security of the drugs will be fixed.

Ban on sale of cold -cuff syrup

The Madhya Pradesh government on Saturday banned the sale and distribution of cold cuff syrup. The investigation confirmed that Chhindwara has poisonous substances in the samples taken from this batch related to the death of 16 children. Nine of these died earlier and two later.
