DGCA has directed domestic airlines to increase flight capacity and maintain a fair price of tickets amidst increasing demand of passengers. The DGCA said that it has “actively raised the issue with the airlines to decide that the passengers do not bear the burden of the increased ticket prices during the festivals.”
Aviation companies increase flights on DGCA advice
On the advice of DGCA, major aviation companies have announced to start hundreds of additional flights in October and November. IndiGo has 64.2% shares of India’s domestic market. She has said that it will operate about 730 additional flights in 42 areas. Air India and Air India Express will combine about 486 flights on 20 routes. SpiceJet will introduce 546 additional services in 38 regions.
