June Rohini Vrat 2026: Rohini fast is considered a very sacred and important fast in Jainism. Every month, after sunrise, when there is a strong combination of Rohini Nakshatra in the sky, then this fast is observed. This fast is observed approximately 12-13 times in a year. Rohini fast is dedicated to Lord Vasupujya Swami, the 12th Tirthankar of Jainism. Rohini fast is observed by women of Jain religion for the long life and happiness and prosperity of their husbands and family. However, with time this fast has become popular in many Hindu families also.
Rohini fast in the month of June will be observed on 13 June 2026, Saturday, at the beginning of Rohini Nakshatra. According to astrology, Rohini Nakshatra is a special auspicious Nakshatra. It is believed that fasting and worshiping on this day with devotion and rules calms the mind. There is positivity in thoughts. In Jain tradition, it is considered a day of self-purification and spiritual progress. Rohini fast teaches a person about restraint, discipline and good deeds.

On the day of Rohini fast, wake up early in the morning and take bath. After this take a pledge to fast. Then prepare for puja. Keep an idol or picture of Lord Vasupujya in the home temple. Offer clothes, flowers, fruits and sandalwood to Lord Vasupujya. Chant the mantra Om Hreem Shri Vasupujyajinendraya Namah. Food is sacrificed on this day. Some followers also eat fruits. Donate to the needy on this day. Next day after sunrise, break the fast when Rohini Nakshatra ends and Margashirsha Nakshatra appears.
Importance of Rohini fast
Rohini fast has special importance for the people of Jain community. Rohini is considered to be Chandra Dev’s beloved wife. Rohini is the fourth constellation of the Moon, which becomes effective after sunrise. According to the beliefs of Jainism, Rohini fast inspires a person to walk on the path of moksha i.e. spiritual liberation. By observing fast and worshiping with devotion on this day, one gets relief from the bad deeds of previous births.
