Taking a big decision, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has made Shubman Gill the new captain of ODI format in place of Rohit Sharma. This change has been made before the Australia tour. Rohit Sharma will now be seen playing as a batsman. Rohit was named captain in the year 2021 in place of Virat Kohli. Amidst all this, a post on social media is becoming quite viral, in which it is being claimed that Virat Kohli has taken a dig at snatching the captaincy from Rohit.

Rumors of differences between two veteran players of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are often thrown on social media. This time too, the viral post has again created a ruckus, claiming that after snatching the ODI captaincy from Rohit Sharma, Virat has made fun of him through Instagram Story. According to the claim, Virat shared a story on Instagram, which wrote with the word ‘Karma’, ‘Life is a boomerang, what you give, you get what you give.’

However, this claim is completely false. It was made using AI tools to spread misunderstandings. No such story has ever been posted on Virat’s official Instagram profile. Let me tell you, Rohit Sharma was made a full -time ODI captain in December 2021. He was given the captaincy in place of Virat Kohli. He has been playing as a player since then.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are part of the ODI team for the tour of Australia. Both these players played the last match for India during the 2025 Champions Trophy. That is, these two players will be seen playing for Team India after about 7 months. Both these players have retired from Test and T20I, due to which he was out of the field for the last several months.
