With Sunday Jump, Peddi Looking at Break-Even in Several Areas

It is now almost certain that Ram Charan’s Peddi will achieve break-even in several territories within the next few days.

The film’s strong four-day extended weekend run has put it on par with some of the biggest blockbusters in recent times.

In particular, its performance on Saturday and Sunday surpassed the weekend numbers of several recent hits in Andhra Pradesh.

After posting steady collections during its first three days, Peddi witnessed a significant jump on Sunday across both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

According to tracked figures, the film collected over Rs 5 crore in Telangana and more than Rs 7 crore in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday alone. The actual numbers could be higher when offline ticket sales are taken into account.

The massive Sunday surge has strengthened the film’s prospects of reaching break-even soon in territories such as Uttarandhra and the Godavari districts.

The film also registered solid collections in Nizam on Sunday, although trade circles believe achieving break-even in the Telangana region as a whole will be comparatively more challenging.

Overseas, however, the film continues to face hurdles. While collections in North America remain steady, the rights were acquired at a very high price, making the break-even target difficult to achieve. As of now, the film is nearing the $3 million mark in the USA.

Interestingly, Peddi also showed improvement in the Hindi belt on Sunday, indicating positive word of mouth and growing audience interest.

Starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru.

The music is composed by A R Rahman. Since the film premiered on Wednesday night, its extended opening weekend has generated impressive numbers, and it is now well on course to join the Rs 300 crore gross club shortly.
