Mahhi Vij breaks down recalling childhood humiliation over family’s financial status

Bigg Boss 20 contestant Mahhi Vij became emotional while recalling a painful childhood experience linked to her family’s financial circumstances during a conversation with fellow contestant Aman Gandhi.

In a recent episode, Mahhi clarified that she did not have a personal issue with boxer Mary Kom, but said she was uncomfortable with what she perceived as bias in the kitchen and the politics surrounding it.

While explaining her reaction to Aman, Mahhi said the situation reminded her of experiences from childhood, when her family’s financial position made her conscious in social settings.

She recalled that her family, which she described as lower middle class, rarely went to restaurants when she was growing up. Recounting an outing with relatives, she said her sister had asked for corn soup, but a relative responded by questioning whether her father was paying for it.

The memory, Mahhi said, continues to affect her despite the fact that she maintains a cordial relationship with the relative’s children.

She told Aman that such experiences from her childhood resurfaced when she felt she was witnessing similar behaviour in the Bigg Boss kitchen.

Mahhi also reflected on how her circumstances had changed over the years, saying that despite the financial difficulties her family faced during her childhood, she had gone on to achieve significant success.

The conversation left Mahhi emotional as she opened up about how childhood experiences surrounding money and social status can continue to influence a person’s reactions much later in life.
