Pranavi Urs Maintains Second Place at Asian Games; Saptak Talwar Slips to Joint Seventh

Pranavi Urs has successfully retained her second position in the women’s individual stroke play event at the 2026 , held in Kasugai.

After the second day of competition, Saptak Talwar, however, has slipped from a joint third to a joint seventh place in the men’s individual category.

Urs delivered a stellar performance, scoring seven-under 63 on the par-70 course. This brings her total to 11-under 129 after two rounds, following her impressive four-under 66 on the first day.

Among other female golfers, Olympians Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok stand at joint 21st and joint 25th respectively out of 45 athletes. Dagar scored three-over 73, totaling four-over 144, while Ashok finished with four-over 74, resulting in a total of five-over 145.

In the women’s team event, India improved its standing from joint sixth to third place, achieving a combined score of seven-under 273. The team event counts the best two scores from individual golfers.

On the men’s side, Talwar scored two-under 68 on the second day, bringing his total to six-under 134 after two rounds, down from his initial four-under 66. Wei-Hsuan Wang from Chinese Taipei leads the men’s leaderboard with a score of nine-under 131.

Indian golfer Veer Ahlawat moved up to joint 16th after two days, having scored one-over 71 on the first day and two-under 68 on the second day, totaling one-under 139. Yuvraj Sandhu also performed well, scoring one-under 69 to bring his total to even-par 140 after two rounds.

In the men’s team event, India remains in fifth place after two days, scoring 136 on the second day for a total of seven-under 273. Japan leads the men’s team event with a score of 16-under 264 after two rounds.
