Following the death of Madhepura Sadar MLA Prof. Chandrashekhar, anger has now intensified against Makhdumpur MLA Satish Kumar. Hundreds of RJD workers have gathered at Lalu Prasad Yadav’s residence in Patna to protest, demanding that the MLA not be re-nominated.

The MLA did not do any development work

Activists allege that Satish Kumar has not carried out any development work in the area and has ignored public problems. The protest led to shouting and uproar, which severely strained security. Police attempted to control the protesters, but tensions escalated until the situation was finally resolved.

Chittaranjan Gagan described the incident as a minor one and said there was no major uproar against any party leader. He said supporters may have gathered hoping for a ticket, and this practice is common during elections. The dates for the Bihar elections are expected to be announced soon, as the Election Commission team is in Bihar on a two-day visit.

Protests against MLAs from other parties

Besides RJD MLAs, MLAs from other parties are also facing protests. Posters have been put up against Ashok Chaudhary, the JDU MLA from Sakta in Muzaffarpur, questioning his attendance. Local residents allege that the MLA doesn’t visit his constituency and doesn’t address public problems. Reports of internal dissent and opposition within political parties are increasing ahead of the elections, highlighting the complexities of the upcoming election.
