But after years of rumors, there are now indications that the company is preparing to launch its first foldable iPhone. However, whether this device will come with the name ‘iPhone Fold’ or ‘iPhone Ultra’ is not clear yet. Meanwhile, pictures of a leaked dummy unit have revealed new information related to the design of this device.
These pictures have been shared by tipster Sonny Dixon on X (previously Twitter). According to the pictures, Apple’s foldable iPhone will come with a wide foldable design in ‘passport’ style. If reports are to be believed, it may look similar to the first generation Google Pixel Fold.
A pill-shaped camera module can be seen on the back of the device, which is lying horizontally. It is expected to have two camera sensors. Another leaked report suggests that the volume buttons may be on the top instead of on the side. The power button will remain in its normal place i.e. on the side.
The pictures of the dummy unit also reveal the large display inside the phone. It is expected that it will have an OLED screen of around 7.8 inches. If this happens, it will be the largest screen ever offered in any iPhone. There is also news of a 5.5-inch OLED display on the outside. Reports also suggest that a punch-hole design may be used for the selfie camera.
Talking about hardware, according to rumors, the foldable iPhone can have A20 Pro chipset built on 2 nanometer technology, 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. It is expected to have a dual camera system, which will include a 48-megapixel main camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
According to reports, the battery capacity could range between 5,400mAh to 5,800mAh. This could be the largest battery ever used in an iPhone. Its price is estimated to be between 2,000 to 2,400 dollars. However, Apple has not made any official announcement regarding this, so all this information should be considered only as rumors for now.
