Father’s Fake ‘Ultrasound’ Scares Daughter Off Junk Food, Internet Debates Parenting Trick

A viral video of a father faking an ultrasound to stop his daughter from eating junk food has sparked online debate. Using a computer mouse and a laptop displaying worms, he scared the crying child into promising to eat healthier. While the prank achieved its immediate goal, viewers remain divided.

A father’s unusual attempt to stop his daughter from eating junk food has sparked a heated debate on social media. A viral video shows the man pretending to perform an ultrasound on his daughter, using a computer mouse connected to a laptop as a makeshift scanning device. The laptop screen appeared to show worms moving inside her stomach.

The video was shared on Instagram by Archana Singh and quickly drew attention online. In the clip, the father moves the mouse across his daughter’s stomach while showing her the images on the laptop. The child appears frightened by what she sees and eventually starts crying before hugging her mother.

The prank seemingly worked in the short term, as the girl promised to stop eating junk food. The post was captioned, “A father’s fake ultrasound cured her daughter’s junk food habit in one go.”

However, viewers were divided over whether frightening a child was an appropriate way to encourage healthier eating habits. One commenter wrote, “The child needs a lawyer,” while another questioned the example being set for children, writing, “And then we are surprised when children start lying and deceiving others by telling white lies. I wonder where they learnt it from.”

Another user offered a more neutral reaction, commenting, “Well, that’s one way to teach your child,” while others expressed concern that the prank could potentially traumatise the child.

The incident also comes shortly after another video involving children and a similar anti-junk-food demonstration went viral. Earlier in September, X user Neetu Khandelwal shared footage that appeared to show a teacher demonstrating supposed “worms” inside students’ stomachs to discourage them from consuming chips, biscuits and chocolates.

The two viral incidents have prompted online discussion about how adults should explain the effects of unhealthy food to children. While the father’s prank appears to have achieved its immediate goal, reactions to the video show that viewers remain divided over whether fear-based methods are appropriate when teaching children about food and health.
