Actually, famous director and film maker David Dhawan was struggling to become a hero in the early stages of his career. However, he later tried his hand in film making.
David Dhawan had expressed his desire to do acting in the early stages of his career, although he soon realized that this is not his goal. When he saw Satish Shah, Rakesh Bedi acting during the acting course at FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), he understood that it is not a disease of his bus. He had understood that he could do acting, cannot do it themselves.

David Dhawan has given new heights to Komk films in Bollywood. He directed several blockbuster films about Govinda, including films like “Hero No. 1”, “Coolie No. 1”, “Banarasi Babu”, “Deewana Mastana”, “Bade Mian Chhoti Mian”, “One and Ek Eleven”. Apart from Govinda, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt and son Varun Dhawan have also acted in his films.
