petrol-diesel
Crude oil prices in the international market have once again increased the concern of the common man. Today, Monday, June 8, 2026, government oil companies have not made any change in the prices of petrol and diesel, but the prices of standard Brent crude have increased by 2.5 percent in the global market. Since the start of the Iran war, crude oil prices have become expensive by about 50 percent. Even though oil prices are stable in your city today, this heat in the international market can have a direct impact on your pocket in the coming days.
Crude oil fire in international market
This week has started with a bullish trend in the international market. Today in early trade, Brent Crude is trading at $ 96.43 per barrel with a jump of 2.51 percent i.e. $ 2.34. When the market closed last Friday, it was at $93.09. On the same lines, WTI Crude has also reached $92.66 per barrel with an increase of 2.34 percent. However, it is a matter of relief that the price of Indian basket crude is currently stable at $ 100.10 per barrel.
Oil companies lose crores of rupees daily
The rising prices of crude oil are having a direct impact on the Indian economy and the balance sheets of oil companies. According to an estimate, due to cost of crude in the international market, government oil companies are facing huge losses of about Rs 750 crore every day on the sale of petrol, diesel, LPG and jet fuel (ATF). This increasing loss is a clear indication that if the situation continues like this, retail prices may increase again in the future.
