Kalashtami fast: Today is the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha Adhikamas, hence Kalashtami fast is being observed today. The fast of Kalashtami is dedicated to Kaal Bhairav Dev Ji, the fierce form of Lord Shiva. Along with fasting on this day, special worship of Kaal Bhairav Dev Ji is done. There is a religious belief that by fasting and worshiping on the day of Kalashtami, Kaal Bhairav Dev is pleased and frees one from all the troubles and enemies of life.

Kalashtami Puja Auspicious time (Adhik Maas Kalashtami 2026 Puja Subh Muhurat)
According to the Panchang, Pradosh Kaal will start at 6.30 pm, which will last till 7.30 pm. In such a situation, today devotees will get 01 hour time to worship Kaal Bhairav Dev Ji.
Puja method of Kalashtami (Adhik Maas Kalashtami Puja Vidhi)
- On the day of Kalashtami, take a bath in the morning and resolve to fast.
- Worship Kaal Bhairav with rituals during Pradosh period.
- Install the idol or picture of God at the time of worship.
- Offer flowers to God and apply tilak.
- Offer mustard oil, black sesame seeds, coconut, laddus and sweet paan to Kaal Bhairav.
- Offer liquor, Imarti and Jalebi, black gram, curd-vada, halwa, kheer, gulgula and liquor.
- Light a mustard oil lamp.
- Recite Bhairav Chalisa and chant mantras.

The day of Kalashtami is a special occasion to get the blessings of Kaal Bhairav Dev. Worship of Bhairav Dev on this day is considered best. By performing this puja and observing fast, one gets relief from diseases, defects and fear. According to the scriptures, Kaal Bhairav Dev is the god of justice, time and security.
