Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to make the UP Police Radio Network modern and secure. A central dashboard will be created for CCTV footage of all police stations. Digital wireless services will also start in 12 districts.
Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to strengthen the Police Radio Department to make the police system of Uttar Pradesh more modern, safe and technology based. In the high-level review meeting held on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that the confidentiality of the location, movement and communication system of the police should be the top priority. He clarified that there should be no possibility of any kind of technical breach in the communication network. The Chief Minister directed the officers to equip the police radio network with new and state-of-the-art technologies, so that uninterrupted communication can be made available even to remote areas.
Central dashboard will be made for CCTV footage of all police stations
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed to prepare a central dashboard for live monitoring of CCTV footage of all police stations in the state. He said that this will make law and order monitoring more transparent and effective. There was also discussion in the meeting to further improve the supervision and monitoring system of the Police Radio Department. During this time, the proposal to establish the headquarters of DIG Radio Eastern in Azamgarh and the headquarters of DIG Radio Western in Aligarh was considered.
Wireless networks and communication devices are being strengthened
It was informed in the meeting that in the last financial year, 275 flat base masts, 5322 batteries, 120 backpack sets and many communication equipment like cables, chargers and antennas were purchased for police stations. Apart from this, 50 PA systems have also been installed under the modernization plan. Officials informed that by adopting the reverse auction process, there was a saving of about Rs 1.23 crore in the purchase of equipment.
Digital wireless services will start in 12 districts
During the review of the action plan for the financial year 2026-27, it was told that digital wireless services will be started in 12 districts at a cost of about Rs 47 crore. Apart from this, a plan has also been made to develop self-supported mast for remote police stations, 5G filter for portable communication and hand-held wireless communication system for Lucknow Police Commissionerate.
Emphasis on digital human resource management in police department
The Chief Minister also stressed on making the human resource management of the police department completely technology based. He directed that the data of all employees should be updated on the Manav Sampada Portal. Instructions were also given to conduct character register, leave and other service related processes through digital medium. The Chief Minister also laid special emphasis on regularly providing training to employees related to new technologies, computer training and quality improvement of communication messages.
