Parineeti Chopra is set to play a field reporter who ventures into the dangerous world of illegal sand mining in the upcoming thriller Reporting Live, which also features Shekhar Suman, Amol Palekar, Deven Bhojani and Adil Hussain.
The film follows a reporter pursuing a story that leads her into the murky operations of a ruthless sand mafia determined to keep its illegal business and the crimes surrounding it hidden.
Reporting Live is directed and co-written by Dhruv Tripathi, who has developed the project over seven years with writer Mihir Jadhav. The filmmaker said the film was conceived as a grounded thriller centred on ordinary people caught up in a high-stakes situation.
“It feels incredibly special to finally announce ‘Reporting Live’. I’ve lived with this film for seven years, from writing it with Mihir to bringing it to the screen, so seeing it ready to go out into the world is quite surreal,” Tripathi said.
He added that the film seeks to maintain a realistic tone while focusing on the people at the centre of the story. Tripathi also expressed excitement about audiences worldwide watching the film on Netflix.
Producer Partha Kiran Thakur said the film combines a high-stakes story with an ambitious scale of execution and described the collaboration among actors from different generations as a major highlight of the project.
“We’re particularly thrilled to see Parineeti Chopra and Deven Bhojani come together on screen in a pairing audiences have never seen before,” Thakur said, adding that their characters are different from the roles they have previously portrayed.
Produced by Partha Kiran Thakur and Joshua Shirsath, Reporting Live will premiere on Netflix on October 9, 2026.
The project marks another streaming outing for Chopra after her recent OTT debut with the series Shaque: Trust No One.
