A job applicant’s scathing response to a company after being rejected post eight rounds of interviews has gone viral on Reddit. The reason for rejection? The role had already been filled internally.
In an anonymous post on Reddit, the frustrated applicant shared the email they sent to the company after the final rejection. They accused the recruiter of misleading them and wasting their time.
“This entire process has been a very unprofessional experience,” the email began. The applicant expressed anger over not being told that the job was already filled. He said, “I wish that you guys were a little more transparent with me about the status of the position and I hope you all reflect on the mental distress that you put your candidates through as you clearly have no empathy for the time and energy that they’re putting in.”

The applicant slammed the company for lacking empathy and accused them of “emotional manipulation”. They claimed the recruitment team had “overpromised” a job opportunity that never truly existed.
They concluded the email by urging the company to value a candidate’s time just as much as they value their own. The entire experience, they said, was “disheartening”.
The post quickly gained traction on Reddit, where users came out in support of the job seeker.
