In Kerala, Sri Narayana Dharma has allegedly made controversial remarks of Vellapally Natessan, General Secretary of SNDP (SNDP). His remarks have created a political storm in the state.
The opposition party Congress alleges that Natsen is making a statement distributing at the behest of Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan.
Recently, Natsen, who predicted Pinarayi Vijayan’s third consecutive term, claimed on July 20 that Kerala would become a Muslim -dominated state by 2040. They said,
Muslims have become an invincible power in the state. No matter what party in power is Kanthapuram AP Abubakar, including Muslim Muslims, interfering in the government of Muslim clerics. Such a situation has become that before implementing any improvement, the consent of Malappuram (Muslim -majority district) will have to be taken. Kanthapuram AP Abubakar Muslim is a senior Sunni religious leader, who is known as Grand Mufti.
Earlier, in an event of SNDP, on July 19, Vellapalli Natasan gave a similar statement. He said that mainly in northern Kerala, the active Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is now eyeing the seats of Central Kerala and wants to get the post of Chief Minister.
Leader of Opposition and Congress leader V.D. On this statement of Natesan, Satisan said that community leaders should avoid making such divisive statements. They said,
The SNDP general secretary has reiterated there who speaks against CPI (M) leader Malappuram of Kerala. And which the Chief Minister said through PR agencies in Delhi. Everything is happening at the behest of the Chief Minister. This hate speech is against the philosophy of social reformer Shri Narayan Guru. The opposition will question this campaign being run aimed at hating and creating gaps in the society.
The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has also accused the government’s collusion behind this statement of SNDP general secretary. At the same time, the State Secretariat of CPI (M) has also issued a statement regarding this.
In this statement, without naming Natsen, people have urged people to be vigilant against any step weakening the secular culture of Kerala. CPI (M) State Secretariat said,
The party considers the rights of the minority community as part of the security of secularism. In a secular society itself, all religious and non-religious people can work in a democratic manner.
Vellapalli Natsen is an influential leader of the Ejhawa community. The political branch of Natsen SNDP has also been the patron of the Bharat Dharma Jan Sena (BDJS). This party is now an ally of NDA in Kerala.
Natesan’s son Tushar is the president of Vellapalli BDJS. BDJS is with NDA, but at the grassroots level the party has to depend on supporters of SNDP, many of which are traditionally with CPI (M).
Ejhawa community falls in other backward classes (OBC) community in Kerala. Ezhawa community is 23 percent of the total population of Kerala. And this community is the biggest basis of the Communist Party. Pinarayi Vijayan also comes from this community.
The Ejhawa community has traditionally been working as toddy. Natsen has been making controversial statements about Muslims earlier also. But in view of the support of the Ejhawa community, CPI (M) and Vijayan do not take a tough stand against them.
