Maruti Suzuki has sent a consignment of cars up to Anantnag for the first time using the world’s highest railway bridge. The first batch had more than 100 cars. Taking them, the train manufacturer left from the plant in Manesar and reached the newly formed Anantnag railway terminal.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited: India’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has sent the first car batch in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir using the world’s highest railway bridge. With this, Maruti Suzuki has become India’s first automobile manufacturer to deliver vehicles to Jammu and Kashmir using Indian Railways.
Train reached Kashmir after traveling 850km
The first consignment of cars sent by Maruti Suzuki had more than 100 cars, including models such as WagonR, Dzire, Brezza and S -reso. This train left from the manufacturer’s plant railway siding at Manesar and reached the newly formed Anantnag railway terminal. The train completed an 850 km journey and crossed the Chenab River on the world’s tallest railway Arch Bridge on the way. The bridge was inaugurated under the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project earlier this year.

Union Railway, Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “In recent times, apples from the valley have been carried out through Jammu and Kashmir Rail Link. Now, Maruti Suzuki cars will be rushed to Kashmir Valley by rail. The Jammu-Srinagar railway line is a revolution for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

This announcement has been made with an increase in demand in the festive season. Maruti Suzuki delivered 1.65 lakh vehicles in the first eight days of Navratri and the figure is expected to cross 2 lakhs by the end of the nine -day festival. The company reported 3.5 lakh bookings during this period, out of which about 2.5 lakhs are still pending.
