Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder, has been in remarkable touch in the longest format of the game. Ever since the England series, the batter has amassed 50+ scores in the last 7 of his 9 innings.
The batter continued his dominance with another commanding century against the Windies.
Ravindra Jadeja, the left-handed batter, has been in some exceptional form in the longest format of the game. He started his sheer domination when he stepped up for India in the India tour of England. Ravindra Jadeja went on to score 500+ runs alone in the series. This was his most convincing series with the bat.
Continuing his domination, Jadeja scored another stellar hundred in the longest format of the game, and this time it was on home soil against the West Indies. Jadeja is the third centurion in the match alongside KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel.
Ravindra Jadeja dominates West Indies with stellar 6th Test hundred
Coming in to bat at no. 6, Ravindra Jadeja dominated the West Indies pace attack. When Jadeja came in, India was already looking forward to a lead, with KL Rahul having scored a stunning hundred. Jadeja contributed to a mammoth double-century partnership alongside wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel.
From ball 1, Ravindra Jadeja looked to have had his eyes set on the ball as he often played some audacious strokes to complement the Indian scoring rate. Having scored runs at regular rates, Jadeja smashed 5 sixes in the inning. With his 5 sixes, he surpassed the former Indian captain MS Dhoni for the record number of sixes.
Jadeja reached his 6th hundred in his Test career, as he now has scored 656 runs in Test cricket. He is the second-highest run-getter in Test cricket in 2025.
Dhruv Jurel scores maiden Test hundred in Rishabh Pant’s absence
Another batter who shocked all with his performance was Indian wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel. Rishabh Pant was found injured and hence missed the West Indies tour of India series.
Dhruv Jurel scored a stunning 150 in the first Test between India A and Australia A, and hence was included in the playing XI. Jurel has grabbed the opportunity of Pant’s absence as he smacked his maiden Test hundred at Ahmedabad.
Dhruv’s dominance might not affect Rishabh Pant to the core, since the batter’s abilities in Test cricket are well known to all; however, if any of these batters can be switched to the no. 3 position, then Sai Sudharsan might have to worry about his role on the Indian side.
