New Delhi: While mobile phone number portability is quite co mong among cellphone users, Indian Overseas Bank has unveiled the concept of savings account portability for retail customers.
The state-owned lender allows retail account holders to be able to transfer their bank account from one location branch to another without overbearing paperwork.
This facility is available to both working individuals and students who are required to move owing to work-related and educational requirements.
How to port your savings account
- If you’re a savings bank account holder at Indian Overseas Bank, visit www.iob.in
- Click on the ‘transfer savings account’
- Enter the registered mobile number
- Enter one-time password received on your registered mobile number
- Enter the branch to which you aim to transfer your account
- Click submit. You will be redirected to a new page mentioning details of the savings bank account and the name and code of the new branch
- The bank account transfer is complete
