Troubled by bribery, Vinstrack Ink complained! Now Finance Ministry took action

Nirmala Sitharaman and Founder of Company

Vinstrack Inc., a company working as logistic in the country, accused Chennai’s custom effects of taking bribe. It was said on behalf of the company that she has become upset by paying bribe. On Wednesday, October 1, Vinstrac Inc. had announced to close his work and close his work. Now the Finance Ministry has taken action on this itself. The ministry has ordered an inquiry into the matter.

The Finance Ministry said that a senior officer of the Revenue Department has been appointed to investigate the matter deeply. These officers will investigate all the facts, talk to the concerned people and officials, and check all the necessary documents. The government has taken many good steps for taxpayers in recent years, such as bringing taxpayer charter, starting faceless custom process, and building an appellate body to resolve the dispute. Its purpose is to make business easy and transparent. The matter is being taken very seriously, and the government is quick to take the right steps according to the law. The government is repeatedly saying that it is working to make business more easier.

What is the matter?

Vinstrac Inc. announced to stop all its business in India. The company made serious allegations against Chennai’s Customs Department, such as harassing them and repeatedly demanding bribe. The company said that it has become difficult for them to do business in such an environment. The company’s founder Praveen Ganesan also alleged that a bribe was sought to approve the shipment of his wife’s company. He also took the names of some officers, who allegedly sought bribe. He complained about this, on which action has been taken now.

The first case of problems between Vintrack and Chennai Customs was reported in June 2025. Ganesan had already claimed that a Chennai custom officer has stopped his shipment and is seeking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from him. Even then, the same old method was adopted in response. Officials said that there were no necessary documents in the shipment. This incident of June suggests that the current dispute has not arisen separately, but it represents an increase in the ongoing tension between importer and customs authorities.

Custom department reply

The Customs Department denied all these allegations wrong. He accused the company of breaking the rules. The department says that the company is lying so that they are pressurized and the mistakes of their shipment can be ignored and approved.
