A surprising incident has happened in Darbhanga, Bihar. A pond here has disappeared overnight. The place where the pond was filled with water and ducks were swimming till the evening a day ago, has not only become level, but there is also a hut there. The villagers have complained to the SDPO in this regard. It is alleged that to capture the land of the pond, the land mafia has leveled the land by filling it with soil overnight.
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, SDPO Amit Kumar reached the spot and conducted investigation. However, by the time they reached the land mafia they had fled from the spot. After this the SDPO has given instructions to the police to take action. The matter is of Neem Pokhar area located in ward number four of University police station area of Darbhanga. On this occasion, SDPO Amit Kumar inquired from the people of the locality about the pond. It was revealed that the pond was built on government land and its management has also been going on.

According to the villagers, in view of the rising prices of land in Darbhanga, land mafia has become active here. Especially to capture government lands, new tactics are being used every day. According to the villagers, this pond was being filled for several days. The administration was also informed in time, but at that time the administration team had just filled in and left. Now after the entire pond is filled, strictness is being shown.

Villagers told that till recently fish farming was done in this pond. The water of this pond was also used for irrigation in the surrounding fields, but now this pond itself has disappeared.
