Madras High Court: On September 27, 41 people died due to a stampede at the rally of Tvk (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) major Vijay at Karur, Tamil Nadu. While hearing the case, the Madras High Court on Friday reprimanded the actor -turned -leader Vijay. The court said that TVK left the stampede. This shows the mentality of their leaders. Madurai Peeth of Madras High Court reprimanded TV leaders for the Karur stampede and said that party chief Vijay “fled from the spot”. The party did not even regret it.

High Court said- the stampede was not handled properly

The court said that this shows how the mental state of actor -turned -leader is. Justice Senthilkumar said that the stampede was not properly handled. The state is softening towards victory. He questioned both the organizers and the police, questioning the responsibility, “Being a program organizer, do you not have any responsibility?” The court expressed displeasure over the softening of the state towards Vijay and said that he had “disappeared” from the spot at the time of the incident.

High court ordered to create SIT for investigation

The bench ordered the formation of a special investigation team (SIT) under the chairmanship of Senior IPS officer Asra Garg to investigate the incident. At the same time, the order was reserved on anticipatory bail petitions filed by TV leaders Bussi Anand and CTR Nirmal Kumar.

During the hearing related to anticipatory bail, it was said by the state government that the stampede TVK was due to the conduct of its workers of the party. TVK leaders treated irresponsible. The bench said that 41 innocent people died due to a large man -made disaster. The court cannot close its eyes, cannot become a silent spectator.

The bench said, “The whole world has seen this incident. The bike got stuck under the TV bus, yet the driver did not stop the car. Is it not a case of hit and run?” The court questioned the police, saying, “Why was the case of hit and run not registered? Why did the police not take cognizance of it?”
