New Delhi: Manchester United completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford on Tuesday, bringing an end to one of the longest transfer sagas of the 2025 summer transfer window. The Cameroon forward said he is joining the “club of his dreams” after signing his official contract for Manchester United. United have signed Mbeumo on a five-year deal for a transfer fee of £65m and £6m in add-ons.
United had a concrete interest in Mbeumo right from the beginning of the ongoing summer transfer window, and the club sent its first bid for the forward last month. However, it was rejected immediately by Brentford, who valued Mbeumo at £65 million. United had another bid rejected before their third offer was accepted by the Bees earlier this month.
Mbeumo becomes United’s third signing of the summer after the club roped in Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves and signed young left-back Diego Leon from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno. The arrivals of Cunha and Mebumo are expected to significantly bolster United’s attack ahead of the Premier League 2025-26 season.
