Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav handed over a relief amount of crores of rupees to millions of farmers on 3 October. This is the first time that farmers were also given financial assistance for crops spoiled by yellow mosaic disease.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister interacted with farmers of many districts through video conferencing. The farmers thanked the government for the help. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state and the country are constantly progressing. He assured that in every crisis, the government is standing with the farmers because the economy of the state progresses only through the hard work of the farmers.

Farmers get a profit of 653.34 crores

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred Rs 653.34 crore to the accounts of 8,84,772 farmers in one click.

  • 331.22 crore rupees were given to farmers on crop damage due to excess rainfall and floods.
  • A relief amount of Rs 321.97 crore was given on crop damage from insect disease and yellow mosaic.

The government says that in case of damage, distribution of relief amount to farmers will continue continuously.

Talks to farmers: “Government fulfills promise”

The Chief Minister told the farmers that the government is fully committed to farmer welfare. He said, “What we had said, the government has no shortage of money to help the farmers. Farmers should go to the mandis and register for Bhavantar Yojana, they will also get the benefit of it.”

Comparing the role of farmers to the soldiers, the Chief Minister said, “Just as the soldiers stake their lives on the border, in the field, farmers in the field handle the economy of the country by putting their lives.”

Farmers expressed gratitude

On this occasion, a farmer from Mandsaur said that his crop was spoiled due to yellow mosaic. He said that the government has given timely relief and it will be a big support of Deepawali for him. Similarly, a farmer named Rekha also said that the Madhya Pradesh government prepared for their celebration by helping farmers before the festival. The farmers of all the districts thanked the Chief Minister and the government.

In which districts crop damage

  • Natural disaster damaged crops in 34.94 lakh hectares of 3,90,275 farmers from 1854 villages. Affected districts: Vidisha, Seoni, Barwani, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Damoh, Burhanpur, Mandla, Khandwa and Ujjain.
  • The crop was damaged in 3.03 lakh hectares of 4,94,605 ​​farmers of 1700 villages due to yellow mosaic and insect disease. Affected districts: Shahdol, Khandwa, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Damoh and Alirajpur.

Relief amount has also been received earlier

  • On September 6, the government gave relief of Rs 20.6 crore to 17,500 farmers from 11 districts.
  • In August, farmers received a relief amount of Rs 30 crore.
  • In the financial year 2025-26, the government has distributed a relief amount of Rs 225.07 crore so far.

The condition of rain in the state

This year, the state has received 1148.1 mm of rain so far, which is 21% more than normal.

  • The highest rainfall: Guna (1668.1 mm), Mandla (1589.7 mm), Raisen (1575.5 mm), Narsinghpur (1446.5 mm), Sheopur (1441.0 mm).
  • Districts with less than average rainfall: Betul (984.7 mm), Sehore (1055.4 mm), Shajapur (734.6 mm), Ujjain (857.3 mm).
