Tata Motors have now launched its all-new Aeris, compact sedan in India. Priced starting from Rs. 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom), this new sedan replaces the Tigor in Tata’s lineup. The new Tata Aeris is priced between Rs 5.29 lakh and Rs 9.19 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The model gets its design and features similar to the Tata Tiago. The Aeris is offered in five trims: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished. The bookings for the model have commenced, while the deliveries are slated to begin by 11 October.
Design
The Aeris borrows several of its design cues from the Tata’s hatchback. The Aeris is offered in six exterior shades: Nitro Crimson, Pure Grey, Dandeli Drizzle, Pristine White, Daytona Grey, and Dune Glow. At front, it gets sleek LED headlights with eyebrow-like LED DRLs, and a gloss black grille. The front bumper houses LED fog-lamps. This compact sedan runs on 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, while the lower spec (smart and pure trims) and all CNG variants get smaller 14-inch wheels. The rear features slimmer LED taillamps connected via a red trim.
Interior
Like-wise the exterior, the interior of this sedan are highly identical to the Tiago. However, instead of the dark theme offered with the Tiago, the Aeris gets a more lighter theme. The dashboard now features a 10.25-inch infotainment system, and a two-spoke steering wheel; it gets physical buttons too. The gearbox is now transformed into a rotary dial, which helps to clean up some space in the front. There’s also dual wireless charging pads at the front. Other notable features include

Safety-wise, the Aeris features an integrated dashcam (front and rear), which would save up on some upgrades. It also gets six-airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold control, and more in its package.
Powertrain
Under the hood, the Aeris gets a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine (84 bhp & 113 Nm), and a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine with CNG (75 bhp & 97 Nm). Transmission duties are handled by a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT options on both the powertrains. The all new Tata Aeris locks horns with the Maruti Dzire, and Hyundai Aura in India.
