Former India star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has been preparing to play in different T20 leagues around the world since his retirement. Recently, Ashwin, who signed for the Big Bash League, was also eyeing UAE’s LT20 League. But here the legendary Indian spinner felt disappointed and he did not find any buyer. Now it seems that Ashwin is very angry with this failure in the ILT20 and he has removed the video related to this league from his YouTube channel.
Ashwin did not sell in auction
Ashwin retired from International Cricket in December 2024 and Indian domestic cricket in August 2025, including IPL. Due to this, he was free to play in the foreign T20 league and since then he was preparing to play in different leagues. During this time Ashwin signed his agreement with the Australian BBL team Sydney Thunder. Along with this, Ashwin also submitted his claim in the auction of ILT20, where he had the highest base price of $ 1.20 lakh.
On Wednesday, October 1, the ILT20 League auction took place, where none of the 6 franchises of this league showed interest in buying Ashwin. Due to this, Ashwin, the only player with the most expensive base price, remained ‘Anasold’. However, like the IPL, the players not sold in this auction are also given an opportunity in the ‘Excellent Auction’, but when Ashwin’s name did not come in it, everyone was surprised. During this time, Simon Dool, who was involved in the broadcasting of the auction, said that Ashwin has withdrawn his name.
Deleted video of ILT20
Ashwin would hardly have expected that the player like him, that too recently retired Indian players, thus the auction will be ignored in the first time. Perhaps Ashwin did not embrace this thing and with this ‘Fazihat’ he was shocked and withdrew his name. But the matter does not end only here. According to reports, a few hours before the auction, Ashwin posted a video explaining the auction on his YouTube channel. But after the auction was over, this video was deleted (or private) from his channel. This has also shocked everyone.
Cleaning on auction, now will play BBL
A day after the auction, a cleanliness was also introduced by Ashwin and in which the Indian spinner said that he had already made up his mind to play the entire season of BBL and he wanted to withdraw his name a few days ago. Ashwin cited his commitment to LT20 and said that he decided to join the auction.
At the same time, Ashwin has taken a big decision. The Indian spinner has made himself available for the entire season of BBL. In fact, Ashwin had earlier dealt with Sydney Thunder for only a few matches as BBL and ILT20 leagues are to be held at the same time and in such a situation they wanted to play some matches of the two leagues. But now after separating from the league of UAE, they will be available for the entire BBL season.
