Actress Yami Gautam has credited her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, and their son Vedavid for inspiring and supporting her journey to winning the National Award for her performance in Article 370.
Yami shared a heartfelt note on her official Instagram account after receiving the honour, reflecting on the years of work, struggles, hope and perseverance that led to the recognition.
“Today, as I hold this National Award, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Not just for the award, but for everything that led me to this moment, the people who believed in me, the lessons, the struggles, the prayers and the journey,” she wrote.
The actress also spoke about her son Vedavid, who was not yet born when she was working on the film. She said his presence during the making of Article 370 gave her strength and courage to continue when she needed it most.
“Vedavid, you gave me strength in the most extraordinary way. You were with me during the making of this film, even before you entered this world, and somehow, you gave me the courage to keep going when I needed it most,” Yami wrote.
Expressing gratitude to Aditya Dhar, Yami said he had consistently inspired her to become the best version of herself and had stood by her throughout her journey.
“You inspire me every single day to be the best version of myself. You have stood beside me through every chapter, celebrated my dreams as your own and believed in me even when I doubted myself,” she wrote.
Yami said she was proud to share the achievement with him as an artist, woman, mother and wife.
Concluding her message, the actress urged her followers to keep working, believing and showing up with hope, saying that the moment they are waiting for may eventually arrive. She also thanked the National Film Awards for an honour she said she would cherish for a lifetime.
