UPSC Digilocker Move Fake Certificate Prevention 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has taken a major step to increase transparency in the recruitment process and ban for fraud. Now the certificates of candidates will be accepted directly through the Digilocker platform. UPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar told about this decision in the Center Celebrations of the Commission. This announcement is being linked to the recently revealed Pooja Kheda case. Pooja Khedkar, suspended trainee IAS officer was accused of misusing OBC and disabled quota. Due to this, questions were raised about fake certificates to be submitted by the candidates.
What did UPSC chairman say?
Ajay Kumar, while answering the questions of the candidates in a virtual town hall aired on Doordarshan, said, “Our policy is very clear.” We have a zero tolerance policy on cheating or fraud. If a candidate is caught, he is suspended for at least 3 years and legal action is also taken in case of criminal fraud. He also clarified that the most strict action is being taken on Pooja Khedkar as per the rules.

Why Digilocker is necessary?
In the UPSC recruitment process, candidates have to submit many types of certificates, such as-
- Caste certificate
- Benchmark Disability Certificate
- Income Certificate
The authenticity of these documents is often questioned whether they are actually issued by the concerned authority. To eliminate this problem, now UPSC will directly take certificates from Digilocker, which will maintain transparency and there will be no scope for fraud.
Strict message of UPSC on fraud
UPSC has made it clear that whether it is a case of fake certificate or cheating in the examination, no disturbances will be tolerated. The Commission says that new steps will not only increase the trust of the candidates, but will also be more fair and transparent. This step is news of relief for millions of candidates in the coming days, as now they will not have to face any additional doubt on the validity of their documents.
